Size Guide

 

Choosing the right watch size makes the difference between a piece that sits comfortably on the wrist and one that never quite feels right. This guide covers wrist measurement, case size, strap length and lug width, so you can order with confidence.

 

Measuring Your Wrist

 

Wrap a soft tape measure or a strip of paper around your wrist, just below the wrist bone, where the watch would naturally sit. Note the measurement in millimetres. If you are using paper, mark the point where it overlaps and measure that length with a ruler. Measure at the end of the day, as wrists can swell slightly with heat and activity, and this gives a more practical reading.

Case size refers to the diameter of the watch face, measured in millimetres from edge to edge, excluding the crown. Use the table below to find a suitable range once you have your wrist measurement.

*These ranges are more guidelines than fixed rules. Case shape, dial design and personal taste all play a part.

 

Strap and Bracelet Length

 

Kenneth Scott straps and bracelets are supplied in a standard length designed to fit most wrists. Leather straps include several adjustment holes, and metal bracelets can be resized by removing or adding links.

 

A Few Practical Notes

 

·       A watch that fits well should sit level on the wrist, without tipping to one side or leaving a large gap beneath the case.

·       As a rough guide, the case should not extend past the edges of your wrist when viewed from above.

·       If you are choosing between two sizes, consider how you intend to wear the watch. For example, a slightly larger case suits a bold style, while a smaller case tends to sit more discreetly under a sleeve or cuff.
